Jade’s boyfriend Joe’s housemate Liam’s brother Damon had a housewarming party last night in Fitzroy. Yes, I went to the party not knowing anyone who actually lived in the house. Jade, Joe, and I decided to go with a Bohemian theme, for which Jade prepared daisy head pieces, which were, I dare say, the hit of the party. A smashing success! Dan did my hair for the evening which was such a treat for me. Let me set the scene a little. There was a great courtyard that wrapped around the house, with a fire pit going to keep us warm. There were a couple kegs and a basin of 21 bottles of champagne. The champagne was left over from their parents’ party so it was high end bubbly. People were dressed in various self dictated themes. I met a couple people from New York and Canada, and lots of unemployed people who work only enough to get by. Every person I met was very friendly. I decided to head home around 1AM since I really needed a productive Sunday. Good thing I left when I did. The rest of the crew returned this morning at 8AM. We sat on our roof (accessed via an upstairs window) for a couple hours in the sun and chatted, I the only sober one who’d slept. Ah, the excitement of our house.
