The work crew (Duncan, me, Hanya, and Dena) ready to head off to the wedding ceremony.

The girls (Katie, me, Hanya, and Dena)

The weather was fickle all weekend. The morning had been sunny but windy and about 10 minutes before the wedding scheduled for 3:30pm on the beach at 'The Edge of the Bay Resort', it began to rain. Some family friends offered up their home only a few meters away.

Everyone left their wet shoes by the door which rendered quite an obstacle course for the bride and father of the bride.

Alex and her dad successfully navigated the footwear as she made her grand entrance in this stunning dress.

The ceremony took place with a backdrop of mountains overlooking Coles Bay. The super tall best man beside Hughie is his best friend Simon Taylor, a famous AFL footy player for the Hawthorn Hawks in Melbourne. He was incredibly friendly and fun.

Alex and Hughie grinned from ear to ear, beaming with love and excitement, as they exchanged vows.

You may now kiss the bride.
Immediately following the ceremony, we enjoyed celbratory champagne at the house before moving onto 'The Arc' at Mt. Paul for the reception.
The reception venue was amazing with a view like no other.
There were about 110 guests at the wedding. We sat in long tables with a backdrop of mountains to our side.

We each had a chocolate placecard.

Duncan, Katie, and Hanya sat on one side of the table...
Alex and her brother David, who later became my dancing partner. We were the last ones left standing at the end of the night.
The rain cleared, yielding an amazing sunset and rainbows for unreal photographs.
Stunning!

Hughie and Alex cut the cake, which we incidentally never ate. We did however get an incredible chocolate dessert. The food was amazing. We had nibblies upon arrival, followed by a divine 3-course meal. Very gourmet.

Dancer Emily taught Alex and Hughie how to dance for their wedding. They put on quite a show to Michael Buble's Crazy World.

The wedding party joined them mid-song.
And it didn't take long to lure the rest of us onto the dance floor.
The DJ was spinning great tunes and we barely stopped to breathe. The dance floor was jam packed all night!
Alex and Hughie danced in the center of a big circle of friends and family for the final song.
But the party didn't stop there. The after party moved onto the boys' house, which was Hughie's lake house. All remaining champagne and beer traveled with us on the chartered buses. What a trip that was!
The dancing continued on and on and on... until David and I were the last ones standing.
Katie, Sam, and me. Many people crashed at the guys' house but Katie and I decided to venture back to our house around 4am. We walked all the way from one end of Coles Bay to the other. When we came across the 'Farewell from Coles Bay' sign, we realized we'd missed our turn and turned back. We did indeed make it 'home' for the night after a very fun evening! What a wedding!!!
