Bendigo Bombers

Casey, Cassie, and I went to cheer on our colleague Dills (#24) as he played in the VFL footy finals (VFL is one step down from AFL representing Victoria rather than Australia). We even went out onto the footy oval to join the team’s huddle between quarters. I can’t believe they allow this. The first half of the game was incredible with the bombers dominating the field and Dills scoring a few points. The second half was a shocker as we watched their opponents overtake them in a bitter defeat. We soaked up lots of sun in the perfect sunny day while we constantly scouted for Dills on the field.

After the game, I went to meet Tyr, the wiemereiner I’ll be watching for 10 days starting Thursday evening. I’m watching her for a coworker Zoe who is headed to Fiji – Fiji vs. dog??? Hmmm… dog! I’m in major withdrawal. She’s a really sweet dog, well trained, about the same size as Jack, and to top it off she lives 150 meters from the beach in Port Melbourne. Woo hoo!!

I had a little bit of a meltdown that night. I was trying to hook up the internet using the broadband router that FINALLY arrived a full month after I set up internet service for the new house. Australians have a funky weird plug that is used to connect the telephone cable to the port in the wall, which I was disgusted to find missing. I started ranting and raving about the stupid Australians that have stupid plugs and it made me really miss home and all that is familiar and “normal”. All is on the up and up now. The WONDERFUL news is that the internet is finally working!!
