Rainy Day Massages

We were picked up for our scheduled Phi Phi Island tour in the morning but it was cancelled before we arrived at the destination due to inclement weather. The ocean was too rough and choppy. What to do when it rains in Phuket?? Take a 3 hour nap and get lots and lots of massages! Our first stop was a foot massage with a freebie neck and back massage at the end. This probably should have been called a lower body massage as the focus area extended far above the foot region.

After a repeat stop at dodgy Big Mama for lunch and a quick internet stop, we went for round two of massages, this time "Thai massages". Incredible!! This was hands down the best way to spend an hour and $6. It was a very interactive massage with the therapist climbing on top of, over, around, and under my body. At one point, she walked up the backs of my legs while her elbows pushed up my back. I was pulled and contorted into a few yoga positions. They targeted every area of the body including toes, neck, head, face, butt, etc sending pulses of pressure up and down my legs, arms, and back. It was simply amazing.

Completely relaxed, we returned to our luxury resort for a movie marathon in bed. I even watched part of the movie from the bath tub through the peek-a-boo window. It was a rough day of pure relaxation.
