Eva, Jade, and I made the most of the long weekend. Saturday morning, Jade prepared a gourmet feast with poached eggs on toast, bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes, and beans. We ate around 2pm, and by the time we'd made our evening plans, it was already 3:30pm. We agreed to meet back at our house at 5pm for drinks prior to heading out to see Jade's friend Owen play in his band.
Heather, this is my failed attempt to replicate your designer know-how.
We traipsed all over Fitzroy and Carlton following his band from one place to another, then settled in for a brief stop at the Rochester, where I met up with my friends Sammy and Charlotte. We moved onto Bar Open on Brunswick St and finished the night off there.
Owen's band rocked the stage with some good dancing tunes.
Sunday yielded no rest for the weary. I met up with Glenn, my new American friend. We started with memosas at breakfast (at 1 or 2pm) followed by "love grass" wine at Deco's (Mclaren Vale region, excellent!). It was a beautiful day and we were lucky enough to soak up some sun in both places. Then Dan came to join in the fun and we went onto dinner at Thaila Thai's with one last stop at the pub across the street at the end of the night.

Monday was another sunny gorgeous day so Jade, Eva, and I decided to hightail it to St Kilda. Now this is a real trek from our house. We were on the tram for ages, what felt like eons, and must have been well over an hour to make the voyage, but oh was it worth it.
We went to the ever-popular Vineyard on Acland St, where we enjoyed some far-too-expensive cocktails and the most divine calamari salad on the planet.
Then we staked out some seats on the patio and made all kinds of friends. That's what you do when there aren't enough seats to go around!
We stopped by the Espy for a drink on the way home.
