Wineglass Bay

I made my second voyage to Tasmania for Alex's wedding. A bunch of us flew in a day early to appreciate our scenic destination. Katie, Hanya, and Duncan give a wave on our way up the mountain in Freycinet National Park.

Our first view from the lookout was a bit stunted by clouds lingering over the bay.

We continued the hike down to the beach which Cass and I didn't have enough daylight to do last time we visited, so although I'd been to the lookout before, this was my first time on the sand of one of the world's top ten beaches.

Dena, Duncan, and Katie saunter out of the foggy forest onto the beach. It was amazing how distinct a feeling it was walking through the cloud.

Hanya, Duncan, Dena, and me with a moment of sunshine over the bay.

The water was beautiful but the sand was rather grainy. After being to the Whitsundays, I think I'll forever be a beach snob.

Katie and I ventured into the water where she threw bunches of seaweed at me.

The water was quite cold and refreshing.

Our second stop at the lookout was much more rewarding with a clear view of Wineglass Bay. Basically you hike up to the lookout and down to the beach, then back up to the lookout and down to the car park.

After a quick stop by the house, we ventured onto Friendly Beaches where Duncan was hoping to catch a few waves, but unfortunately the surf was no good.

That night, Joel and Emily joined Katie, Duncan, Dena, Hanya, and me at our holiday house for a bbq. The guys grilled while the girls prepared salad and got ready for the next day.

I ran a mini-salon offering french braiding services (pay attention to next day's curls!)...

...and toe nail painting for pregnant women. Duncan suggested I start a side business at URS.
