Broome Cable Beach

My tour of Australia could not be complete without a trip through the Kimberley, the rarely touched outback in northwestern Australia. I flew from Melbourne via Perth into Broome, arriving at 12:30pm.

I captured a couple shots from the plane as I flew in.

This trip was a trip of firsts for me, one of which was braving a backpackers/hostel on my own. I think I picked the right place to do it. Beaches of Broome was more of a resort than a cheapo dingy place to crash. I lucked into an immaculent 4-bed room with only one other roommate - a boy! He walked in just after I finished changing as I didn't realize it was a mixed gender room. Good thing to know.

This is the pool at the hostel! I was really roughing it.

I walked just down the road to the famous Cable Beach.

Cable Beach was lined with ripples and waves in the sand and very warm water.

I watched the sunset over Cable Beach.

Lots of 4WDs drove on the beach and past the rocks to watch the sunset.

I saw 3 herds of camels parade by at sunset. Earlier along the coastline, people can pay to ride the camels into the sunset.

One final shot of the palm trees at sunset.
