Queenstown

Mom and Dad walked around Queenstown in the morning. Dad took this picture of Mom in front of the lake from our hotel.

Then I took Mom, Dad, and Lisa to the airport so they could go to Sydney for a few days, as none of them had been to Australia yet. Katie and I stayed in Queenstown to do all the fun adventure activities in which they had no interest.

We walked around Queenstown in the rain, hoping it would clear up.

Queenstown is a great ski town, lots of shops and cafes and souvenir shops surrounded by snow covered mountains.

Katie the kiwi, the New Zealand bird and nickname for New Zealanders.

We took the Skyline gondola up to the Queenstown lookout. The city is behind me on our way up.

A view of Queenstown from the lookout.

Which way from here?

Katie and I rode the luge twice, one time each on the scenic and advanced tracks. Would you believe neither of us crashed?

The luge track had an amazing view, and surprising drops around some of the bends!

We took a chairlift back up to the start of the luge from the bottom of the track.

Another view of the luge track. We snuck in Thai food and sushi while the picky eaters were away and ended up enjoying a quiet night at the hotel for a little R&R. So unlike us, but so perfect.
